Blue Acre Enterprises was established in 2001 as a small business to commercialise and patent the Slip-Not. An Australian patent was granted for the Slip-Not in 2005. International patents are pending and are currently in the final stage of the patent process. With international patents almost finalised our Slip-Not range of products is set to explode. With many prototypes having been developed and tested over recent years you may never need to attempt to tie a knot in a rope ever again. This simple yet innovative Blue Acres invention is set to revolutionise the way we use a length of rope.
In 2005 Blue Acres secured Australia distribution rights with U.S.A. speciality rod manufacture, Lamiglas, to market their products in Australia. Blue Acres.com.au Pty Ltd was established in 2006 to take full advantage of this new direction. We now work closely with Lamiglas having designed and developed a range of fishing rods for the Australian market. We have recently been granted rights as the Lamiglas distributor for Lamiglas products in New Zealand.
Recently we have been seeking to further expand our product lines with high quality products for the Australian market. We are currently working with a new Australian manufacture of big game trolling lures and continue to source and test a range of products. Blue Acres are also researching and developing variety of innovative products for the fishing, boating and outdoor recreational markets.
At Blue Acres we promote our products regularly through a number of mediums including television, print and website advertising, fishing and marine trade exhibitions, in-store advertising and promotions, fishing tournaments and our team of pro anglers.
2006 was a successful year for our tournament team. Colin Singleton finished the year in 2nd position in the ABT Bass Pro circuit angler of the year. Steve McDonald ended the year in 9th place in the Pro Bass circuit angler of the year fishing only 5 of 8 events and taking 2nd place in the Pro Bass grand final. Brad Smith qualified for both the ABT and Pro Bass grand finals and finished 8th in the Pro Bass angler of the year. Andrew Pulbrook qualified for the Pro Bass grand final.
Currently in the 2007 season Andrew holds down 2nd place in the ABT Bass Pro angler of the year having finished 3rd at the most recent event. Brad is in 6th position on the circuit with a 5th place at the same event and won the first round of the Pro Bass circuit.
A new member to the Blue Acres Pro Team in 2007 is Bream Pro, Richard Robson. Richard has a vast amount of angling experience from around the globe and has been a user of Lamiglas rods long before residing in Australia. Since joining the Blue Acres team Richard place 7th at the Gippsland Lakes STC bream round.
