Locked Blood Knot

Pass the main line through the eye of the hook or swivel.

Wrap the tag end (loose end) around the main line 4 – 8 times (more for light line, less for heavy line - braid at least double the of wraps)

Pass the tag end through the first loop above the eye and then through the lage loop you just formed.

Pull the tag end to draw the knot into shape, DON’T tighten at this point.

Wet the knot to reduce friction.

Pull the main line and tag end to slide the coils tight against the eye.

Trim the tag end 3-5mm from the knot.

The locked blood knot is an effective knot to connect terminal tackle and easy to tie.

Pass the main line through the eye of the hook or swivel to form a double with a tag length of around 15cm.

Bring the tag end back on itself, passing it under the doubled line to form an opposing loop.

Wrap the tag around the double passing the line through the opposing loop 3-6 times. (more for light line, less for heavy line - braid at least double the number of wraps)

Pull the tag end to draw the knot into shape, DON’T tighten at this point.

Wet the knot to reduce friction.

Pull the main line and tag end to slide the coils tight against the eye.

Trim the tag end 3-5mm from the knot.

Palomar Knot

Form a loop in the line approxiamatly 15cm long and pass it through the eye of the hook.

Tie a overhand knot in the looped line.

Pass the end loop over the hook.

Wet the knot to reduce friction.

Pull the tag and main line to close the knot.

The palomar knot is a simple knot that provides a very strong knot.

Pass the line through the eye of the hook and place the end of the tag along the hook shaft to to form a loop.

Hold both lines against the hooks shank.

Wrap the loop tightly around both lines and the hook shank working from the eye down the shank. Wrap 4-10 wraps more for light line, less for heavy line.
